To Hidden Spots Along the Coast
A Coastal Journey from Shavei Tzion to Nahariya Exploring Stories & Flavors
Throughout the Galilee
As soft autumn light paints the coastline in shades of gold, we'll take a pleasant walk through the hidden gems of Shavei Tzion, accompanied by tour guide Karmit Arbel.
We will enjoy a special visit to the Beit El Complex — a lesser-known site with an extraordinary history. Established in the 1960s by a German pastor as an act of atonement for Nazi crimes, the site has been run ever since by a local German family and Christian volunteers from Germany. They provide free hospitality and vacation stays for Holocaust survivors. After a moving encounter with the family members who manage the site, we will walk along the Sea Trail—a stunning coastal path that winds between sandstone rocks, coastal vegetation, and the spray of the waves. Along the way, we will pause at the foot of the Shayetet Disaster Memorial, which sits right by the water’s edge, before continuing to the remains of an ancient Byzantine church. Once the gate guarding the site is opened for us, we’ll see its magnificent 6th-century mosaic floor up close. To conclude, we will reach the northernmost point of the trip — the Briza Complex at the southern end of the Nahariya promenade. Here, we will wrap up the tour by taking in the waves while enjoying special tastings from a variety of food carts — a culinary journey around the world.
Price: 120 NIS per person, including tastings and intriguing encounters.
