At the heart of the Ofir Farm, a beautiful log cabin was built. This cabin was first built in 1840 in the Appalachian Mountains in the USA by a Scottish immigrant. It was bought and dismantled by Ellen Radley, a Jewish resident of the area, brought to Israel and stored at the Ofir Farm for a period of ten years.
The Ophir family received permission to rebuild it with his kind help.
The cabin has a special atmosphere with the peace and beauty of yesteryear and the pleasant smell of the oak and chestnut trees.
Every week, Wednesday to Saturday, the cabin’s terrace and the surrounding eucalyptus grove are opened for a unique tasting experience. The experience consists of three wine tastings per person and a selection of cheeses, sourdough bread and dips. Tastings of nine types of honey are for everyone.
Wine tasting experience with cheese and bread ― 75 NIS per person
Hadas and Zvika Ofir established their farm in Alon HaGalil in 1985, with a beehive, vineyard, and winery. At the same time, they raised four children who to this day are partners in the family business.
