Wefqi Salamna is a qualified tour guide accredited by the Ministries of Tourism and Education, who leads tours throughout Israel, focusing especially on Bedouin and Arab villages in the Galilee. His specialties are nature hikes, history, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
As a licensed tour guide, Wefqi offers tours and nature walks in the Galilee setting around his home in the village of Kaabiyah and its surroundings, giving you an in-depth acquaintance with local nature, history, and archeology.

Wefqi Salamna is 72 years old. Born in Kaabiyah, he has always been drawn to the study of the Land of Israel with its wealth of cultures and diverse human landscape. With a master’s degree in Eretz Israel studies, accreditation as a qualified tour guide, and his ability as a brilliant storyteller, Wefqi launched this fascinating venture.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
