You are invited to a breathtaking journey on an experiential and exciting tour of a magical Druze village – Hurfeish! Explore with tour guide Karmit Arbel, you will discover secrets, flavors, and stories you will not forget.
The tour begins with a stunning view from the top of Mount Navi Sabalan, the holiest place for the Druze community. Here, in front of a breathtaking view, a window opens to the world of the Druze religion – a secret and fascinating religion.
After that, we will continue to visit the house of Safta Maha – a strong and special woman, who prepared the amazing Malfouf (stuffed cabbage fingers) especially for us, and we will hear her moving personal story on the balcony overlooking the stunning view.
After tasting the homemade dishes, we will go on a walking tour of the ancient village core. We will visit the renovated and preserved Grandfather Rashras House, and hear fascinating stories about the past. Stop for a cup of tea and cake, and discover the stories of the mysterious house that was saved from the war.
The story does not end here! We will meet Haifa – an inspiring entrepreneur who will tell us about life in the village, and the tradition hidden behind the spices’ flavors in her shop.
And finally, we will reveal three surprising secrets: the ancient and secret church in the heart of the village, the special cemetery that reveals part of the Druze faith, and finally – a sweet tasting of katayif and knafe at the mythological Nissim confectionery.
