In Paula Rykin’s studio, everyday objects collected from life itself — cans, toys, corks, and fragments of objects — are reassembled into a colorful, humorous, and lively world.
Through the act of collecting, disassembling, and reassembling, a playful and sensitive visual language is created, giving forgotten objects a new identity. From the unexpected connections between materials, colors, and shapes, a world is built that tells something about the place where we live — about people, memories, and lives that exist side by side in the Western Galilee.
Like a community, Paula’s works also exist from the connection between different and dissimilar parts, which together make up our “little piece of land”.
About the Creator & Studio:
The Tin Time Studio is located in Paula’s home in the village of Gilon, surrounded by a green Galilean landscape.
The studio has useful and decorative products for the home or office based on creative processes full of imagination, color, and lots of humor. Each of her products is unique and special, and today you can find and create a variety of useful tools, colorful collage pictures, all from recycled materials. Various workshops in the field of creativity are held there, suitable for adults and families, bonding days, friendship meetings, and art meetings.

One of Paula’s first creations was created from a recycled tuna can, and that is where the studio’s name was born ― Tin Time.
Western Galilee Now is a registered non-profit grassroots organization (NGO) promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s boutique wines, beers, food and produce, along with its cultural diversity, its historic traditions and the area’s scenic routes nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea acting as a Chamber of Commerce to boutique tourism operators in the region.
We expose the visitors to the unique heritage and hospitality through workshops, culinary events, art, music, guides tours, festivals and also through our Tourist Information Center in Akko, owned by JNF USA which we were chosen to operate since Jan. 2016.
Our vision is to develop local and foreign tourism based on close cooperation between all the interested parties in the region.
