Saturday, November 20 & 27, 11 am – 12:30 pm, Peki’in
In preparation for Hanukkah, we are invited to a personal candle creation workshop, which connects cultures, develops creativity and is useful for the home. During the workshop we will learn how to work with the material, weights and temperatures, work with patterns and more and how you can add a burst of personal creativity into each piece. The workshop will be moderated by the owner of the place, Safaa Khair.
Safaa Khair is an entrepreneur, art instructor and groundbreaking creator in Druze society.
During the workshop she will teach us to make, by hand, scented and/or therapeutic soap and/or scented candles for Hanukkah from a wide variety of shapes.
After a reception with hot/cold drinks and a cake made by Safaa, we heard from Safaa about the Druze culture and stories about one of the oldest villages in the Western Galilee – Peki’in.
We will watch a short presentation about Peki’in and the various workshops at the visitor center, get to know Safaa and her personal story and hear how the family story is combined with good neighborliness, the mulberry tree and more from the stories of the village and the Druze tradition.
The activity is also very suitable for families and children and you can take the knowledge and continue doing and practicing in quality time at home with family and friends.
Of course, each participant came out with his or her own handmade souvenir.
