Tamar and Gefen in Mizpe Hila is a small and beautiful complex, in the style of a small boutique hotel consisting of three suites that Tamar and Yaron Cohen built with their own hands. The suites are fully equipped and every suite offers a Jacuzzi with a view of nature.
The three suites were carefully constructed, with attention to detail.
In the cellar of Tamar and Gefen the “Tamar and Geffen” winery is located: a small Galilee boutique winery that has been operating for 15 years as a boutique winery that produces limited editions of fine wine and is lovingly served only to Tamar and Geffen’s guests. The guests are invited to hear explanations from Yaron Cohen, a winemaker, graduate of the wine department at Tel-Hai College.
Most of the grapevines from which the grapes are harvested for Tamar and Geffen wines are local and Tempranillo varieties. They are grown in a vineyard in Mizpe Hila, overlooking mountain scenery and enjoy cool weather. Few grapes also come from the Golan Heights. The red wine is dry and dark in color and is deliciously fruity and rich.
The wine room, where wine tasting occurs, is a room that was carefully built by Yaron, the winemaker. On the central table in the wine room, you will find an interesting collection of bottle openers belonging to Yaron, who travels the world in search of unique bottle openers.
Guests of Tamar and Gefen receive a small bottle of wine in their room upon their arrival!
Tamar, a graphic designer, grew up in Nahariya to a family who, while still in Europe, made wine and alcoholic drinks. Yaron, part of a farmer family from Moshav Avdon in the Western Galilee, grew up surrounded by orchards, chicken pens, and tractors.
