A visit and meeting at Tom Attias’ studio in the beautiful and green Mitzpe Abirim, will give you a glimpse into the wonderful and complex world of the artist and the living material. Tom Attias invites you to a meeting that tells his story and the story of his creations: about wood as a living material, about himself as a carpenter and sculptor, about the deep and interesting shared journey of working with wood and its integration into everyday work. The visit lasts about two hours and includes a live demonstration of carpentry and sculpture with hand tools and coffee brewed on wood. Designed for groups and families.
“I love tools, I tend to stop in front of shop windows of stores that sell them. They are so beautiful, simple, and clear – their meaning is so direct. There are no ‘handicrafts’ in them. They were not created beautiful, but they are simply beautiful.”
(Robert Hennery, 1926)
