Ayelet Bar-Meir is a tour guide, loves encounters, stories, and nature that creates unique trips touching on humanity, culture, and nature in the Galilee.
Among her flagship tours is the tour of Peki’in: Spring Flavors Peki’in – a Tour of Peki’in with a Culinary Emphasis. We will begin with a demonstration on how to prepare Kanafeh in the Yosef bakery and eat hot Kanafeh with a cup of tea. We will walk to the spring square between picturesque alleys and huts, follow the flow of the spring and other hidden corners to the flour mills that were the culinary basis for all kitchens. We will be hosted by Hail and Amira with soup, hyssop Sambusac, salads, coffee, and herbal tea. With Amira’s guidance, we will prepare Sambusac filled with young hyssop leaves and onions, and while the Sambusac is on the fire we will enjoy fresh pea soup, eat Sambusac with pickles, and salads and finish off with seasonal herbal tea and black coffee. We will end with a short, walk through the blossoms to the Peki’in and Ein Tiria streams.
“The Galilee is an area with a unique charm – a meeting of landscapes and people from east and west, where there is both strength and serenity, mountain peaks, green groves, springs, rare flowers, and abundant animals intertwined with the human story in a unique cultural fabric. The Galilee is an area that has been populated by different religions, diverse forms of settlement, many opposing views, and neighborly relations.”
