The dairy store is housed in an unusual architectural structure that in the past served as the mythological kibbutz dining room and adjoins a flourishing orchard. The building houses under one roof: a goat’s cheese dairy, a café, and the dairy store.
The store offers a rich variety of goat’s milk cheeses produced in the dairy. There are dozens of cheeses to choose from: hard, ripened, low-fat, Alto’s famous special thick yogurt with its “flavor of days gone by” and of course fresh goat’s milk. The store also offers a selection of choice Galilee products: wine, olive oil, olives, preserves, spreads, honey, halva, a selection of delicious sourdough bread, handmade cakes, and cookies.
The store is dairy and kosher. Abundant parking and disabled-accessible.
Alto in Kibbutz Shomrat is a three-generation love story about cheese making and creation; a family business of two parents and five children, all dreaming and working together.
