A recommendation for an accessible route throughout the Western Galilee. Suitable for all seasons and all ages!
At green kibbutz Harduf you will find the café and gallery of Kamah Center (Harduf Clinic Community). Surrounded by Galilean nature, you can enjoy light meals based on fresh, natural and mostly organic ingredients, most of which grow in the vegetable garden and are locally made, with freshly squeezed juice and hot drinks. The delicious cakes and cookies, baked in the bakery every morning with great love, are another reason to come visit. The café and gallery are part of rehabilitative occupational workshops, and they sell products of the workshops: baked goods, woven items, paper and ceramics, all made by members of Beit Elisha.
After the visit to the beautiful Kamah Cafe & Gallery, we will continue for a trip through nature, with the car, on the scenic road in the Ahihud Forest. Don’t miss the spectacular viewpoints!
The Ahihud Forest covers about 8,000 dunams (a little under 2000 acres). On the road between Akko and Tzfat, in front of the entrance to Gilon, you will find a scenic road that can be driven along by a private car. Along the way, there are several observation points on the Karmiel, Zvulun Valley and Haifa Bay. It is recommended to travel from east to west. Throughout the forest, you will find organized parking lots with shaded picnic tables sitting in a natural grove of eucalyptus, oak, and cypress.
Directions: drive on the Akko-Karmiel road (road 85) until the Gilon junction. At the Gilon junction turn north and immediately discover the left turn to Drech Nof Yaer Ahihud, in front of the “Dor” gas station.
And now a visit to a special ecological museum in Kfar Sha’ab. It is also worth walking a bit in the village itself.
The Ecological Museum in Kfar Sha’ab displays the sculptures of the artist Vasim Bukai, a resident of Sha’ab, whose main raw material for his works is metal industrial waste. The museum was established with the cooperation of the Sha’ab local council and with the assistance of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Vasim creates his sculptures from scrap metal, such as car exhaust, pipes, motorcycle parts, and more.

And the perfect way to end the trip – a glass of wine and good cheese in front of an amazing view at Kishor Winery in Kishorit
A unique boutique winery that includes a vineyard, a new visitor center and a unique workplace that accommodates to adults with special needs. The Kishor Vineyard is located in the Kishorit Kibbutz, located on the upper Western Galilee mountain range, overlooking the sea and beautiful mountain ranges. The weather and soil conditions are an ideal environment for a long and slow ripening of the fruit and give their wine its special color, scent and taste.
We hope you have an amazing trip, feel welcome to share your experiences with us at akko.office@westgalil.org.il
